Everything you need to know about Malaga Airport (AGP)

Firstly before you visit Malaga Airport you shoud bear in mind that there is major construction underway at the moment as a new terminal building is being built to accommodate more flights and tourists. As such you may experience short delays leaving and arriving at Malaga Airport during this time. It is therefore advised that you allow extra time for your journey during peak times.

Malaga Airport (AGP) is conveniently located outside of the main city centre which allows for easier access by road.

If you are coming from the eastern side of Malaga (i.e. from Nerja direction) you will need to come off at the exit clearly marked Malaga Airport just past the Plaza Mayor shopping centre exit.

If you are coming from the western side of Malaga the exit for Malaga Airport is after the Torremolinos turning. Just after the road narrows from 3 lanes to 2 lanes you will see the exit. Take care as this exit winds very sharply around to the right.

About Malaga Airport

At the moment there is a single terminal building at Malaga Airport with the departures access on the upper level and the arrivals on the lower level. There is plenty of parking available at the airport both long and short term, both of which you will find very reasonably priced in comparison to UK airport parking prices.

Within the terminal building the screens and check-in desks are straight ahead of you if you are on the departures level. If you require refreshments or a pharmacy, if you head left (if looking towards the check-in desks) and go down the small ramp there is a Burger King, a Spanish stlye restaurant, a pharmacy and a few other shops.

On the lower level you will fine the arrivals section. As you enter the hall the arrival screens are located on your left directly above doors where passengers will come through.

Where can I hire a car at Malaga Airport?

There are certainly no shortage of car hire and car rental firms at Malaga Airport. Some of the desks are located below the luggage reclaim area and others are on an industrial area a couple of minutes from the terminal building.

It is our recommendation that you book your Malaga Airport car rentals before you arrive as they often get very booked up.
